Individual Pastoral Care
The priority at Beech Hall is that the children come first. Furthermore, respect for each other and good manners set the tone for good behaviour.
In the Junior School, the class teacher plays a key role in the pastoral system and is the day-to-day point of contact, whereas the housemaster or housemistress carries out this role in the senior department.
We feel that it is vitally important that children develop confidence through a rich and varied education and through being given responsibility.
House System and Duties
All children belong to one of three houses - Ash, Yew, or Oak with the aim of enabling children of all ages to have a common link. Inter-house competitions are arranged throughout the year.
In the Junior Department, children are awarded good marks for good behaviour and good work. Individual children record good marks and at key milestone points the child receives a Merit Badge in Assembly. A House Shield is also awarded annually.
In the Senior Department the emphasis is on making good choices about study and conduct. Good work and behaviour are rewarded by commendations.
