| Infant and Junior School Curriculum
Building on the experiences and
foundations laid in the ‘Little Griffins’ Nursery,
the children naturally make the transition to Beech Hall Infant
School. Our small classes provide a high level of individual
care and attention. The children in our Infant and Junior
sections benefit from a broad curriculum. The importance of
reading, writing and mathematics is stressed and these are
taught by the child’s form teacher who is also responsible
for the excellent pastoral care that our children receive.
In addition, pupils benefit from specialist teaching in Science,
IT, Music, Physical Education, French and Art. Beech Hall
children are encouraged to take an interest in and develop
an awareness of, the world around them together with the development
of their creative and physical skills.
Sport and Extra-Curricular Activities
There
is so much more to Beech Hall Junior School than just high
academic attainment. The school has a thriving Music Department
and children benefit from a wide range of peripatetic lessons
in a whole host of instruments from an early age. There is
a wide-ranging programme of extra curricular and sporting
activities offered throughout the week and at weekends. Children
may belong to any number of our many sports teams where the
fixtures in all the major sports are played regularly. All
pupils can expect to represent the school in some capacity
from as young as seven years old in sporting competitions.
In addition, many children participate in extra curricular
clubs including cookery, art, needlework, drama, sailing,
golf, dance, IT and a variety of choirs.
