An incredibly informative Battlefields trip in France and Belgium. Including a visit to the Passchendaele Museum bringing the reality of war to life with artefacts, dugout, trench and the startling development of warfare. This was followed by a moving service at the Menin Gate at Ypres including Last Post and official laying of our Beech Hall wreath, thanks to Tom and Anna for conducting this important role with such dignity and respect. It’s been a trip of learning, respect, memories and remembrance.

The Magical Christmas Jigsaw. 'At a bustling Christmas market full of the joyful sounds of carol singers and cheeky market sellers, five excited children come across a very special stallholder who gives them a tatty old Christmas jigsaw in return for the promise that they will find time to complete it on Christmas Eve. As the children gradually piece the jigsaw together with the help of a very special visitor, the Christmas story comes to life with all the traditional nativity characters.'

Impressive pupils at Beech Hall School were presented with certificates and trophies to celebrate their incredible successes this year at the school’s Prize Giving. The academic year culminated with the exciting awards ceremony and swimming gala, held on the lawn, offering afternoon tea and introducing inspirational guest speakers.

Beech Hall School staff and pupils had a day of bright and messy fun when they held a colour run as its final fundraiser for the NSPCC. Pupils from reception up to year 11 wore their most crisp white clothes and ran laps of the school field diving and dodging as teachers took aim with their colour bombs. The year groups started in waves with reception kicking things off. Over £100 has been raised for the NSPCC and more is still to be counted from the run.

2017 saw 14 Beech Hall pupils from Years 10, 11 & 12, Mr Allen and Miss Fitzgerald, experience a twelve-day expedition hosted by African Adventures included a weekend excursion to the Cape Coast – Cape Coast Castle which was largest place to accommodate slaves in the 19th century (1500 at its peak) and Kakum National Park. We worked in two local schools, working in the classroom, building and making bricks

Success for Beech Hall School’s First Christmas Market

Beech Hall School kicked off the festive season with a spectacular winter wonderland at its inaugural Christmas Markets on Friday 25 November. The unique event saw parents, pupils, staff and the local community browse 20 stalls and visit Santa’s Grotto at the Tytherington based school. Guests indulged in Christmas classics such as mulled wine, mince pies and food prepared, cooked and served by the pupils from our brand new food technology lab.

As the clouds rolled away and the sun shone down with even a little warmth on our backs, we celebrated the launch with an impressive 90 photograph on the lawn in front of our magnificent building, a stunning walk along the Bollin Valley (including our Nursery three-year-olds, they were awesome!) and the release of our anniversary balloons. Four hours later and our newest Beech Hall fan had posted his balloon tag on Facebook from Grimsby, almost one hundred miles away! Today has been a wonderful, community event in which pupils and staff alike have participated in the true spirit of the event - we were brilliant!
